Knowledge
of the Last War to Be Fought
We
must fight evil, this we all agree. But
are we fighting it, or are we erroneously fighting each other falsely identifying
each other for that evil and ourselves as "good”. If the
bad is over there then it is not us!
If
you will examine the underlying reason for our personal and national unrest
very carefully you will note a familiar theme. That is, each being corrupted
takes a secret pleasure in and actually wars against the corruption of
another. People everywhere overshadowed
and overcome by corrupting elements derive a "guiltless" delight in
projecting, agreeing, identifying and warring with corruption.
In other words our friends are really fiends
but they have the same beliefs and habits that agree with ours, so in that
sense we complement and justify each other.
But our faults are not as bad as those people over there so we are again
at least much better by comparison. Whatever it is that makes us guilty, the
most powerful and cheapest opiate for our failings is getting "high"
over somebody else's low.
Civil
strife is the national variation of what is occurring on the individual
level. As we become guilty through
moment by moment failings in our personal lives such as dishonesty, resentment,
jealousy, etc., we feel a growing urge to project that guilt. We may appoint a
minority group as the goat and a local leader who understands our needs, as
savior. Every corrupt self-righteous
society eventually demands blood to pay for their sin. The goat must be sacrificed to satisfy the
feverish collective soul. If another is
guilty and we can play judge, we feel relief via a new position.
