The Letter Killeth Part 2
Words: The Deadliest Drugs
"Many people cannot bear to hear plain, simple words
spoken with profound meaning because their egos fear...awakening to reality”.
All who willfully go their own way must, by
necessity, set aside reason and common sense for personal gain or glory.
Excuse-making is the evidence of a stubborn ego hardening its heart against
reality. The moment you begin to reject understanding, you become lost in a
word-based image dimension where you see words as meaning. Believing into words
conjures up the essence of illusion, a feeling of creating or becoming what the
word represents.
For words to take on meaning and reality, it becomes necessary to respond
to them as though they were real things, so that words begin to act on you as
if they were environment. Locked into words, an ego-identity and animal lifestyle
grow, based on a spirit of deceit and fantasy. An invisible will, moving up
behind language, manifests itself in a life-form that is totally dependent on
the sound of words and that is why we are so emotionally affected by what
people say.
If we allowed it, words could lead us out of our sensuous "word
prison" to the ultimate freedom through what words mean. As it stands now,
words lead us away from our responsibility to meaning into the false loyalties and freedoms of pride.
